The proud part of Unikorns. A world-class creative design agency.
Puzzle
Puzzle is a modern AI platform for accounting automation trusted by more than 7,000 startups and technology companies. The fintech market requires a high speed of communication: the product is constantly growing, and the visual language must match this pace.
Initially, Puzzle approached our creative unit Unikorns Agency for a brand refreshment. The Agency team did an excellent job, creating an updated visual style and laying the foundation for scaling the identity.
But after the concept is approved, any company faces a purely practical challenge: the new branding must be promptly and systematically rolled out across dozens of real-world assets. It was necessary to redesign the website, create social media templates, prepare presentations, one-pagers for the sales team, and develop consistent graphics.
The situation at this stage looked as follows:
Puzzle's internal specialists were fully focused on developing the complex technological core of the platform and AI logic. Diverting them to marketing design was inefficient.
The updated brand had to hit the market quickly and cohesively, without a drop in quality across individual communication channels.
It was required not just to draw designs on a one-off basis, but to create a scalable system that the client could independently develop in the future.
To offload the Puzzle team and systematically launch the new branding into work, the project transitioned to the track of Unikorns Work. We connected as a reliable team extension, ready to take on the entire volume of digital asset updates.
How we integrated into the project
The main fear of a fast-growing startup when working with external designers is the need to spend time on micromanagement and controlling every step. We built transparent processes, distributing roles within the Unikorns Work team as follows:
The Project Manager took over all project communication, task prioritization, workload distribution, and budget control.
Digital designers focused on designing web pages, presentations, and marketing materials.
Illustrators worked in close collaboration with designers to create a unified visual language.
An important part of the project was the interaction with an external dev team of contractors, which was responsible for the layout and technical release of the website on Webflow. To ensure the visual solutions translated correctly into the layout, we established a process of regular design reviews. Our designers reviewed the designed subpages before their release and gave constructive feedback to the developers. This helped launch the website exactly as it was intended, without unnecessary iterations.
Production and output
Instead of isolated design concepts, we focused on creating a predictable flow of materials and a ready-made design infrastructure. During our collaboration, we updated and launched into production:
Reworked the structure of the website and adapted the subpages for the new identity.
Created flexible templates for social networks, presentations for partners, and commercial one-pagers for sales.
Developed an illustration system and a set of product illustrations for different use cases. In the field of accounting and fintech, there is a lot of abstract data – the visual system helped pack them into clear, friendly, and easy-to-perceive images.

Results
Collaboration with Unikorns Work allowed Puzzle to make a qualitative transition to the new brand identity, maintaining the focus of internal teams on the product.
All updated touchpoints entered the market in a single style, completely matching the original concept of the Agency.
Thanks to the practice of regular design reviews, the website reached production in its original quality and without overloading the development team.
We handed over all source files, templates, and the finished illustration system to the client's internal team. Puzzle received a fully configured visual ecosystem and was able to continue its further development independently.
